About YALA
P R C A Youth Ambassador Leadership Academy helps young people recognise their potential, develop it through experience and use it to benefit others.
The Academy builds on youth participation at the P R C A Awards. Each year, we work with a local secondary school or college to invite students to introduce Awards categories. After taking part, these students are offered recognition as P R C A Youth Ambassadors and receive a Youth Ambassador badge once they accept the role’s terms, with parent or guardian consent if under 18. They are then separately invited to join YALA; those who accept begin enrolment. Remaining Academy spaces are opened to other eligible young people.
Our first 12-month programme launches on 12 August 2027. Through leadership learning, mentoring, volunteering, community projects and reflection, participants progress through Bronze, Silver and Gold before graduating and receiving an invitation to the Alumni programme.
